Frequently asked questions
How does sync work?
If you're signed in to iCloud, your hunts, photos, spots, and other records sync automatically through your private iCloud account. Settings in the app shows the current sync status. To see your hunts on another device or a new phone, sign in with the same Apple Account.
Do you see my hunts?
No. Your data is stored on your device and in your own iCloud. There's no account, and we never receive it.
Where do shooting hours come from?
For Pennsylvania, Duck Log uses the Pennsylvania Game Commission's official shooting hours tables, adjusted for your meridian band. For other states, hours are calculated using the federal rule for migratory game birds (one-half hour before sunrise to sunset), along with known state exceptions such as special early seasons and Sunday hunting rules. Every state includes a link to its official regulations.
Why does Duck Log ask for my location?
To show shooting hours for where you are, figure out which state's rules apply, and save the location of your hunting spots. It's only used while the app is open. You can also choose your state manually in Settings.
How do I delete my data?
Delete records in the app, or delete the app to remove its data from your device. To remove it from iCloud, go to Settings › [your name] › iCloud › Manage Account Storage and choose Duck Log.
Is iCloud sync free?
Yes. Syncing and backing up your hunts to your own private iCloud is included for everyone.
